The Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture is offering unemployed youth an opportunity to join the Young Creatives Programme. This programme is open to applicants from all South African provinces.

Programme Details

• Duration: Not specified
• Stipend: R4,000 per month
• Closing Date: 20 February 2025

Who Can Apply?

To be considered, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 12 certificate (a tertiary qualification is an advantage).
• Age: 18 to 35 years old.
• Background: Must be from the creative and cultural sector.
• Skills Required:
  • Facilitation and presentation skills.
  • English and local language proficiency.
  • Strong communication and youth development background.
  • Ability to take initiative and pay attention to detail.
  • Must be able to act as a role model for young people.

Responsibilities of Participants

If selected, you will be expected to:

• Organize arts and cultural activities in community arts centers and schools.
• Encourage schools and youth groups to participate in the programme.
• Plan, coordinate, and support Young Creatives Programme events.
• Build relationships with community organizations and youth groups.
• Monitor the implementation of the programme in schools and arts centers.
• Commit to personal growth and skills development.
