The Eastern Cape Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (ECCOGTA) is inviting applications from qualified individuals for Senior Admin Clerk Vacancies (6 Posts). Job Details
- Position Title: Senior Admin Clerk – Traditional Leadership Institutional Support Coordination
- Number of Posts: 6
- Salary: R216,417 – R254,928 per annum (Level 5)
- Location: Nyandeni Region – Konjwayo Traditional Council

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- National Higher Certificate/Diploma (NQF Level 5) with no prior experience required.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing within the jurisdiction of the Traditional Councils.
Key Competencies:
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Traditional Leadership Institution.
- Client orientation and customer focus.
- Report writing, facilitation, and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Admin Clerk, your duties will include:
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate meetings between Traditional Councils and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate Traditional Council meetings and provide secretarial support.
- Promote cooperative governance between Traditional Councils, municipalities, and stakeholders.
Community Engagement:
- Facilitate the involvement of Traditional Councils in identifying community needs.
- Support the development or amendment of integrated development plans for municipalities under the jurisdiction of Traditional Councils.
- Promote participation of Traditional Councils in local policy and by-law development.
Legislative Compliance:
- Ensure Traditional Leaders and Council members comply with applicable legislation and policies.
Financial and Record Management:
- Manage the finances of Traditional Councils, including cash management, financial statements, monthly returns, and vouchers for payment.
- Compile revenue and expenditure estimates.
- Maintain records and documents for Traditional Councils.
