The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is inviting applications for the Landcare Graduate Development and Support Program (50 Posts). This program offers an excellent opportunity for graduates in agricultural sciences to gain practical experience. The closing date for applications is 13th December 2024.
Program Details
- Position Title: Landcare Graduate Development and Support Program
- Duration: 3 Months
- Reference Number: HRM 2024/01
- Directorate: Farmer Settlement and Development (FSD)
- Stipend: R5,500.00 per month
- Location: Johannesburg
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate (Matric).
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Agricultural Sciences as recognized by SAQA.
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Landcare Graduate Development and Support Program, you will:
- Provide Landcare advice and leadership services to smallholder farmers and agricultural cooperatives.
- Assist with activities such as planting, irrigation, maintaining, harvesting, washing, storing, and marketing of vegetable and grain crops.
- Promote stewardship and raise awareness about the Landcare Programme and its objectives.
