Govan Mbeki Local Municipality invites applications for Municipal Finance Management Internship Positions. Five (5) posts are available for unemployed graduates. The closing date for applications is 11th March 2025.

Internship Overview:

• Position: Municipal Finance Management Internships (X5 Posts)
• Post Ref: 2024-2025/29
• Duration: 2 years
• Location: Budget and Treasury Office, with possible placements in other units for diverse experience
• Stipend: All-inclusive stipend

Requirements:

The internship is open to unemployed graduates in the following fields:

• Accounting
• Economics
• Management Accounting
• Auditing

This internship aims to support municipalities in implementing finance reforms and provide graduates with the skills needed in municipal finance management, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain hands-on experience in municipal finance.
• Learn and assist with budgeting and financial management.
• Develop skills in strategic planning and financial reforms under the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
• Work under the guidance of a mentor for professional development.
