Job Purpose:

The leadership provides an opportunity to gain experience in handling and processing claims. You will be responsible for ensuring the validity, assessing liability, and negotiating settlements while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring cost containment. The position requires you to work within the framework of short-term insurance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Claims Administration and Processing:
  • Register new claims and process payments.
  • Validate claims and related documents.
  • Adjust claims to align with Sasria policy cover.
  • Ensure supporting documents for claims are received and calculations are correct.
  • Maintain document diaries on the IMS system.
• Claims Management:
  • Analyze and assess claims to determine the correct course of action.
  • Approve claims within the delegated authority after verification.
  • Escalate complex claims to a supervisor.
• Customer Service:
  • Handle all customer inquiries and ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Keep customers informed about the progress of their claims.
• Agency/Broker Liaison:
  • Negotiate claim settlements.
  • Liaise regularly with agents and brokers to update them on claims progress.
• Ad hoc Tasks:
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
• Ability to handle claims, validate documents, and negotiate settlements.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Good decision-making skills and the ability to work within delegated authority.
