Key Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Certifications:
- Minimum Grade D Security Certificate with PSIRA
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a Security Guard or in access control
- Ability to secure buildings or areas effectively
- Ability to detect suspicious actions and maintain safety
- Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills, including radio communication
- Willingness to work flexible hours (weekends, after hours)
- A Code 08 driver’s license is an added advantage
- No criminal record – SAPS verification will be done
Responsibilities
As a Gate Guard, your duties will include:
- Monitoring and Securing:
- Ensure the safety of the park’s entrance gates and infrastructure
- Report any suspicious activities or emergencies
- Monitor the area for unusual occurrences
- Record vehicle registrations and the number of passengers entering and exiting
- Providing Physical Security:
- Guard the assigned area, ensuring no tampering with materials
- Provide physical security at entry points, including vehicle registration and access control
- Reporting:
- Report any unusual events to senior staff, including the Senior Section Ranger, Rangers, or Park Manager
