Purpose of the Job
The Pre-Assessment Consultant will handle the pre-assessment of prospective claims applications, ensuring compliance with all required processes and rules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Assessment of Prospective Claims
- Record all submitted documents for claims.
- Review benefits and products based on the provided documentation.
- Assess compliance with defined processes and lodgment rules.
- Identify duplicate or linked claims.
- Verify mortality information with the Department of Home Affairs.
- Apply prescription rules and communicate assessment outcomes to claimants.
2. Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain high standards for pre-assessment processes.
- Manage unusual occurrences and resolve related issues.
3. Administrative Support
- The document acknowledged claims and respond to correspondence.
- Prepare reports, briefing papers, and presentations.
- Assist with typing and editing technical papers, memos, and letters.
4. Reporting
- Track progress against objectives and targets.
- Report on risks and suggest process improvements.
- Provide ad hoc reports as required.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and feedback on claim queries.
- Respond to queries within set turnaround times.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in a related field.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a claims-related environment.
Required Competencies
- Understanding of RAF products and the Motor Vehicle Act.
- Knowledge of the PFMA and Motor Vehicle Accident legislation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Financial management and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate effectively.
- Strong client service orientation and ethical values.
