Joburg Water is looking for qualified applicants to fill 10 Artisan Bricklayer positions. The deadline for applications is 6th March 2025.

Job Details:

• Position: Artisan Bricklayer (X10)
• Job ID: 442030
• Salary: R366,144 per year

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for carrying out bricklaying, paving, and concrete work within water and sewer network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit job cards daily and ensure all necessary paperwork (check sheets, overtime sheets, vehicle inspection sheets, and logbooks) is completed correctly.
• Enforce safety in the workplace following OHASA, SANS, and JW Safety procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments before entering excavations and use protective equipment provided.
• Assist in developing personnel and maintain good communication with the team to align with company objectives and values.
• Build and repair walls, chambers, steps, culverts, and other structures as directed.
• Mix cement and concrete according to specifications, and ensure proper excavation and compaction of subsoil.
• Carry out tasks like tiling, plastering, and building doors/windows in existing structures.
• Reinstate road kerbs, guttering, and driveways as per instructions.
• Maintain depot buildings and handle maintenance practices.

Job Requirements:

• Grade 10 or N1 (NQF2) and a Bricklaying trade test certificate or Learnership NQF 4.
• 3 years of experience in bricklaying, building, and paving (bricks, concrete).
• Basic supervising experience.
• Valid Code 10 Driver’s license with PrDP.
