Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- A Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of supply chain duties and practices, including data capturing.
- Proficiency in operating computers and collecting statistics.
- Familiarity with working procedures within the Public Service environment.
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
Competencies:
- Accuracy and strong organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management:
- Provide clerical support for asset management activities.
- Maintain and compile accurate records of assets.
- Check and issue furniture, equipment, and accessories to relevant departments and individuals.
- Identify redundant or non-serviceable equipment for disposal.
- Verify and update the asset register.
Demand and Acquisition Support:
- Maintain and update the supplier database.
- Register suppliers on Logis or similar systems.
- Request and receive quotations.
- Capture specifications on the electronic purchasing system.
- Issue and receive bid documents.
Logistics and Procurement:
- Provide secretarial or logistical support during bid evaluation and contract processes.
- Compile draft documents as required.
- Place and verify orders for goods, ensuring proper receipt from suppliers.
- Capture goods in the register database.
- Respond to requests for goods from end-users and update supplier registers.
