• Job Title: General Worker (49 Positions)
• Salary Range: R155,148 – R182,757 per annum (Salary Level 03)

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 9 certificate or school leaving certificate along with a testimonial from the principal.
• Experience Advantage: Proof of being part of PEYI (Presidential Employment Youth Initiative).
• Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and prioritize the welfare of learners with disabilities.
  • Commitment to respecting and promoting inclusivity and dignity.
  • Understanding of public service principles, including learner privacy and personal choices.

Primary Responsibilities

As a General Worker, your duties will include:

Care and Support for Learners

• Provide personal care to learners with special educational needs, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Offer mobility support and help learners with the use of assistive devices.
• Ensure learners are comfortable, safely positioned, and well-cared for at all times.

Laundry Services

• Manage the washing, drying, and folding of learners’ clothes and personal items to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.

Kitchen Services

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals tailored to the dietary requirements and preferences of the learners.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
