The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health is offering Emergency Medical Care Training Opportunities to unemployed youth. Successful applicants will study towards a Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care (HCert in EMC) at the KwaZulu-Natal College of Emergency Care.

Entry Requirements
Senior Certificate (Prior to 2008)
Candidates must have achieved at least the following grades:
- English: Minimum E (Higher Grade) or D (Standard Grade)
- Mathematics: Minimum E (Higher Grade) or D (Standard Grade)
- Biology and/or Physical Sciences: Minimum E (Higher Grade) or D (Standard Grade)
National Senior Certificate (With Higher Certificate Endorsement)
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- English: Rating Code 3
- Mathematics: Rating Code 3 or Mathematical Literacy: Rating Code 6
- Life Sciences and/or Physical Sciences: Rating Code 3
- Two Additional Subjects: Rating Code 3 each
National Certificate (Vocational)
Candidates must achieve a minimum pass of 60% in:
- English
- Mathematics
- Life Sciences and/or Physical Sciences
Additional Requirements
- Minimum APS: 18
- Pass a medical fitness examination.
- Pass a physical fitness assessment.
