Job Overview:

As a VIP Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises. This includes monitoring surveillance equipment, conducting patrols, and preventing theft or loss. You’ll work at the Kenilworth, Milnerton, and Durbanville Racecourses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Opening Tasks:
  • Arrive 15 minutes before opening.
  • Conduct a perimeter patrol to ensure no suspicious activities.
  • Check the premises for irregularities before the branch opens.
• During Branch Hours:
  • Perform a floor walk to ensure everything is in order.
  • Keep an eye on the premises, inside and outside, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Operate two-way radios and maintain communication.
• Post-Closing Procedures:
  • Minimize entry and ensure security by managing doors and exits.
  • Assist in securing the premises after closing.
• Additional Duties:
  • Assist with stock receiving, alarm tests, and reporting.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of vehicles and foot traffic.
  • Maintain safety by checking bags and conducting searches as required.

What You Need:

• Qualifications:
  • Grade C Security certificate.
  • Matric and computer literacy.
  • 1-2 years of security experience.
  • PSIRA registration.
  • A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
• Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and take initiative.
  • High ethical work standards.
