Permanent Administration Clerk Vacancy at the South African Police Service (SAPS)

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Administration Clerk. This opportunity is based in Pretoria, and the closing date for applications is 13 December 2024.


Position Details

Position: Administration Clerk

Salary: R216,417 per annum (Level 05)
Location: Office of Divisional Commissioner: Visible Policing and Operations, Pretoria


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database at NQF Level 4.
  • Be fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have no previous criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases.
  • Be willing to undergo a vetting process, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
  • Be prepared to work under pressure and extended hours.

Added Advantages

  • A Degree/Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Relevant courses or training in the field.

Key Responsibilities

As an Administration Clerk, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support functions for the Office of the Deputy National Commissioner: Crime Detection.
  • Manage logistical matters and maintain leave records, registers, and files.
  • Screen and answer incoming calls to the Office of the Deputy National Commissioner.

Document Management

  • Type reports, letters, minutes, agendas, and other documents.
  • Handle confidential documents, record minutes, and monitor the flow of documents.
  • Maintain good record-keeping and filing systems.

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with other components and sections regarding matters related to the Office of the Deputy National Commissioner.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including fax machines, photocopiers, telephones, and computers.
