The Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) is offering internship opportunities for unemployed graduates in various fields of the film and television production industry. These internships will provide valuable industry experience and contribute to the growth of your professional career. The application deadline is 28 February 2025.
Available Internship Opportunities
The GFC is offering 22 internships, distributed across several sub-fields:
1. General Office Administration
- Business Administration, HR Management, BCom Finance, Cost Management Accounting, and more.
2. Projects and Permits Administration
- Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Film and TV Production, Visual Arts, and more.
3. Marketing and Communications
- Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, and Visual Arts.
4. Film and TV Production
- Film Production, including modules in Film Producing, Scriptwriting, Editing, Cinematography.
5. Script Writing and Management
- Film or Media Studies, specializing in Creative Writing, Scriptwriting.
6. Camera Operation
- Studies in Lighting, Camera operation, Story Structure, and Editing.
7. Technical Work (Gaffer, Best Boy)
- Film/Media Studies, with a focus on Camera Operation and Lighting.
8. Virtual Work/Operations
- Make-up, Wardrobe, and Production Set Design within Film/Media Studies.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Tertiary Qualification (Diploma/Degree) at a minimum NQF Level 6. TVET graduates must have completed their Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
- Unemployed and available for the full duration of the internship.
- Age limit: Must be 35 years or younger.
- South African citizen and a permanent resident of Gauteng.
- No prior participation in any Internship Programme.
- Preference will be given to candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and designated groups.
