Job Purpose

As a Pharmacy Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth operation of the store, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining retail standards. You will handle a variety of tasks including assisting customers, processing payments, managing stock, and maintaining visual displays.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service:
  • Greet customers and assist them with their needs.
  • Address customer queries promptly and escalate when necessary.
  • Keep customers informed about current promotions and products.
• Sales & Payments:
  • Handle payments using the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Balance sales and receipts according to company procedures.
  • Process customer refunds as required.
• Stock & Merchandising:
  • Restock items and organize the sales floor according to SOPs.
  • Conduct price audits and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Maintain product knowledge and provide advice to customers on the best products.
  • Maintain the store’s visual merchandising standards.
• Administrative Support:
  • Keep track of stock receiving and follow merchandising standards.
  • Assist in maintaining proper housekeeping in the store.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Experience: At least 5 months of retail experience, particularly in a Point of Sale or cashier role.
• Skills:
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in Afrikaans and English.
  • Knowledge of payment procedures (e.g., cash, credit card, vouchers).
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
