The Eastern Cape Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts & Culture is offering 111 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Work Experience opportunities for unemployed youth. Applications close on 7 February 2025.

Job Details

• Position: EPWP Support – Sector Coordination, Compliance, and Data Management
• Contract Duration: 1 Year (Fixed-Term)
• Stipend: R3,500 per month

Who Can Apply?

To qualify, you must meet these requirements:

• Have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) or NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Be unemployed at the time of applying.
• Have no previous EPWP work experience.
• Have basic knowledge of EPWP and its role in national, provincial, and local government.
• Have basic skills in stakeholder management, planning, and coordination.
• Understand local community structures in sports, arts, culture, heritage, and libraries.
• Possess good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Live within a 5km radius of a DSRAC service centre (library, museum, art centre, club development, or school).
• Be willing to undergo training.

Job Responsibilities

• Support department programmes at ward level.
• Work collaboratively with other government sectors.
• Assist with sports, arts, culture, heritage, and recreation activities.
• Mobilize youth participation in department events.
• Build relationships with local community organizations and stakeholders.
