Position Details
Job Title: Security Guard (x75)
- Salary Range: R155,148 – R182,757 per annum (Salary Level 03)
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a Basic Security Course.
- At least Grade 10 education.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Good customer care abilities.
- Understanding of Public Service principles.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and measures for managing equipment and stores.
- Familiarity with prescribed security procedures and the authority of security officers.
- Ability to promote the welfare and self-esteem of learners.
- Patience and willingness to support learners unconditionally.
Key Responsibilities
Security and Access Control
- Identify employees, officers, learners, and visitors entering the premises.
- Maintain a visitor register and issue admission control cards, ensuring they are returned.
- Open and close gates for visitors upon arrival and departure.
- Inspect supplies, articles, and objects before allowing access.
Patrol and Safety Duties
- Patrol school grounds, buildings, and fenced-off areas.
- Escort visitors within the premises when required.
- Report breakages, theft, and damages to the Principal or School Management Team (SMT).
- Implement school safety policies to ensure the security of facilities, premises, vehicles, learners, and staff.
General Support
- Interact positively with children using basic communication skills.
- Promote and uphold the rights of children within the school environment.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for learners and staff.
