Available Positions

1. Driver Operator: Earth Equipment (5 Posts)

  • Reference Number: REFS/021981
  • Location: Tshwane Regional Office
  • Directorate: Road Maintenance and Fleet Services
  • Package: R155,148.00 per annum (plus benefits) – Level 3

Requirements

  • NQF Level 2 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code EC) with an operating certificate.
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized equipment such as graders, TLBs, and trucks.
  • Load and offload materials and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and report any defects.
  • Maintain log sheets for vehicles and machinery.
  • Implement safety and precautionary measures.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery.
  • Grade gravel roads and perform re-gravelling or shoulder maintenance.
  • Transport work teams, materials, and equipment.
  • Detect and address minor mechanical problems (e.g., checking oil, fuel, tires, and water levels).

2. Driver Operator: Earth Equipment (3 Posts)

  • Location: Heidelberg Region
  • Directorate: Construction Capital Projects
  • Package: R155,148.00 per annum (plus benefits) – Level 3

Requirements

  • NQF Level 2 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code EC) with an operating certificate.
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized equipment for construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Load and offload materials and equipment.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report defects.
  • Maintain log sheets for vehicles and machinery.
  • Apply safety measures and ensure the proper handling of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment.
  • Perform grading of gravel roads, re-gravelling, and shoulder maintenance.
  • Transport teams, materials, and equipment to job sites.
  • Detect and repair minor mechanical issues on vehicles and machinery.
